Bottle attack man is jailed

A BAHRAINI has been jailed for a month for smashing a glass bottle over the head of a man at a Naim restaurant.
Police were called after the victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
The defendant was convicted of the offence by the Lower Criminal Court.
During questioning at the Public Prosecution, he alleged the Asian man and his friend acted "inappropriately" towards him when he was having dinner.
The Bahraini said he was struck by the victim when he questioned the men on their "strange behaviour" and hit him back. The defendant was arrested when he was returning home from the restaurant.
