A Pakistani official reported to AFP that at least seven Pakistani nationals and one Iranian sailor died during a failed attempt by the Pakistanis to reach Dubai. The four survivors for the group of 12 Pakistanis reported that they crossed by land to Iran, from where the human-traffickers were supposed to take them by boat to Dubai. Because of technical difficulties, the boat got stuck at sea for ten days. The bodies of the eight who starved to death were thrown overboard.Unfortunately, the hardship of migrant workers only starts with the relocation process. Once the workers reach their destination they are subjected to mistreatment, abuse, sub-human living conditions and racism.
